Chelsea should not even think about making a transfer bid for Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa because he won't feature in the starting XI next year and he's overrated.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues have the French star on their transfer list.

Hatem Ben Arfa is next on the list of Roman Abramovich's transfer targets as Chelsea's Russian owner looks to add more flair to his squad.

Ben Arfa had a remarkable season for Newcastle and was one of the primary reasons why the club finished fifth in the Premier League and challenged for a Champions League berth for most of the year.

While the Frenchman would bring some more pace and playmaking skills to the Chelsea squad, the Blues already have enough players with exquisite passing skills.

FC Porto star Hulk is a much better target for Chelsea than Ben Arfa because the Brazilian is stronger and has better goal scoring ability. Ben Arfa has never scored more than seven in a league season. He tallied five goals for the Toon last year.

Chelsea didn't have much room in its starting lineup when the transfer window opened, and now that it has added Belgian star Eden Hazard as an attacking threat from Lille, it doesn't need Ben Arfa.

The Blues need to focus their transfer efforts on finding a right back for the future. The club's success in the Champions League was in large part because of their fantastic defense.

Ben Arfa is a good player, but he won't address any of the real weaknesses on the Chelsea squad and should not be brought to Stamford Bridge this summer.
