Kate Upton's GQ Cover, LeBron's NBA Title, Euro Soccer 2012: BR5's Week Ahead
Welcome to BR5, your daily source for sports and pop culture news.
It’s the end of the week, and you know what that means. It’s time for BR5’s weekly heads up as you take on the weekend: “Check It Out.”
First things first, the Euro 2012 semifinals will roll right through this weekend. Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo was a large part of his team’s favorable result yesterday when he executed what proved to be a decisive header in the 79th minute of regulation, eliminating the Czech Republic 1-0.
Looking ahead, Germany faces off against Greece today, Spain and France play Saturday and England and Italy round out the semis on Sunday. In short, find the nearest pub and post up!
If international competition isn’t what you’re looking for, or you just want to take a break from the television, perhaps some light reading will satisfy you. No, we’re not about to recommend 50 Shades of Grey, go with GQ’s July issue featuring Kate Upton. As is all too common with Upton these days: expect a whole lot of her, with not a lot covering her. There’s also apparently an interview where she recalls a wardrobe malfunction. Suffice it to say it involved a tilt-a-whirl ride and a missing bikini top. Don’t hold your breath waiting for those photos, the issue releases soon.
Last but not least, though probably still too soon to discuss for some of you, is King James. Finally crowned, LeBron lead the Miami Heat to an NBA title last night with a triple-double. If you’re in Miami over the next few days, you are definitely going to want to check out their championship parade. For those of you in Cleveland, or in one of the many other cities that despise LeBron, here’s a good opportunity to come up with new reasons to hate. Either way, congratulations to the Miami Heat, the 2012 NBA champions.
