After being linked on several occasions to the Etihad, it appears that Daniele De Rossi is setting his sights on English soil.

ESPN Soccernet is reporting that Daniele De Rossi publicly stated he is intrigued at the idea of playing in England, as he feels English football is "more interesting" than Serie A.

If De Rossi is indeed ready to leave Roma, Manchester City could be the absolute best option for the Italian star.  Roberto Mancini has publicly expressed interest, on more than a few occasions, in bringing his fellow countryman into the Blues fold.

De Rossi would bolster an already very strong Manchester City midfield.  He would provide an upgrade to Nigel De Jong, who is coming off a very lackluster Premier League season and Euro 2012.

De Rossi's addition to midfield give Mancini the ability to play with his lineups. This could lead to Yaya Toure playing a more integral attacking role, which has proven successful in the past.

While De Rossi has just recently resigned to a five-year deal with Roma, it seems that now more than ever he is likely to move.

At just 28 years old, De Rossi already has 75 caps for Italy and is entering into the prime of his career.
