Arsenal Transfer News: Yann M'Vila Addition Would Improve Struggling Defense
Arsenal has been doing its best to improve the club recently, and Yann M'Vila should be next in line to transfer.
Last season, the squad finished in a respectable third place in the English Premier League. However, a club with this type of history and fan support must do better than 19 points away from a title.
The first issue already appears to be fixed. Arsenal had few scoring options outside of Robin van Persie. Although the Dutch forward is one of the best scorers in the world, the team needed someone to take the pressure off him.

Fortunately, the club brought in German striker Lukas Podolski to help with the attack. If that was not enough, ESPN reports that the Gunners are also close to getting Olivier Giroud. Between the two, Arsenal adds not only skill up front, but also international experience.
A front line of Podolski, Giroud and van Persie would be one of the best in the EPL, if not the world.
However, Arsenal still needs help on the defensive end. Despite a third-place finish, the team was only eighth in the league in goals allowed. The good news is there is help available.
According to the Daily Star, Yann M'vila is looking for a switch: "I don't know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal."
M'vila is a defensive-minded midfielder currently playing for France in Euro 2012. He is a solid tackler who can stop an attack from the opposition, and at 21 years old, he has plenty of room to grow.
He is not a goal scorer, but with the new additions, that is not what the team needs. The youngster has solid vision and, along with Alex Song, can get the ball to the guys who can finish.
With French additions Giroud and M'vila, Arsenal could immediately become one of toughest teams in the English Premier League. Next season could see the new-look squad give the two teams from Manchester a run for their money as it attempts to win its first title since 2004.
