Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Must Find Way to Secure Olivier Giroud
Arsenal is in the hunt for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud, according to SkySports.com, but there is one possible hangup.
Giroud is mum on his future thus far. He is rumored to leave his Ligue 1 side, but we won't know for sure until that actually happens.
Until then, we have to go by Giroud's word. The Daily Star Sunday (per SkySports.com) got Giroud's thoughts regarding his future.

"It's nice that people talk about me but I can't talk about my future right now.

The Gunners could use a dynamic scorer. They've already added Lukas Podolski, and they are reportedly chasing French player Yann M'Vila. Adding Giroud would be the cherry on top.
Let's take a look at Giroud's game and what he would bring to the Gunner side.
Playing Style
Giroud is a physical presence in the offensive end. He stands 6'3'' and has enough weight to merit a flinch, or two, from opposing defenders.
He used that size to net 21 goals for Montpellier this season. He also dished out nine assists. He has a score-first mentality, but his passing ability could increase as he's surrounded by more talent.
Because of his size, Giroud is excellent in the air. He is a major factor on all set pieces because of his bulky frame and athleticism.
The Gunners would benefit from Giroud's ability to finish in close range. He has an adequate long shot, but his primary scoring comes off of balls in the air and through balls.
Why Should Arsenal Pursue Him?
If Arsenal loses Robin Van Persie this offseason, they are going to need help at the top of their attack. This 25-year-old striker is experienced, talented and has proven production on a league winner.
The Gunners finished 19 points behind Manchester City on the English Premier League table this season. They scored 19 fewer goals as well.
They need an infusion on the offensive end, and that matter only gets worse if Van Persie takes his talents elsewhere.
Adding Giroud provides insurance, scoring and tremendous upside in the Premier League's rigorous schedule.
His lips may be sealed for now, but Giroud will give into temptation soon enough.
Expect him to land in Emirates Stadium when all is said and done.
