With the roster for the WWE dangerously thin in recent weeks, the company received another blow as Alberto Del Rio will be forced to sit out his match that was scheduled to take place this Sunday at No Way Out.

Del Rio suffered a concussion—at the hands of who was going to be his opponent at this weekend’s pay-per-view, Sheamus—after the former WWE Champion’s head was bounced off part of the set on SmackDown.

In a special text message delivered from the WWE, the details for how Del Rio will be replaced in his match against World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus were revealed late this afternoon.

Due to a concussion on SmackDown, Del Rio won’t face World Champion Sheamus @ No Way Out. New #1 contender to be named on tonight’s Raw (8/7 CT).

With Del Rio officially out of the match against Sheamus this Sunday, the WWE should use this opportunity to give a deserving superstar like Dolph Ziggler a chance in the main event scene against the World Heavyweight Champion.

In his feuds with champions like CM Punk and Edge in recent years, Ziggler performed great in high-profile matches and the WWE could put him in the match against Sheamus and likely get a solid match at No Way Out.

With a new No. 1 contender will be announced on tonight’s three-hour edition of Monday Night Raw, who would you like to see be the replacement for Del Rio this Sunday at No Way Out and challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship?
