During a question-and-answer session at this past weekend’s Wizard World convention in Philadelphia, CM Punk revealed the current spinner WWE Championship will soon be going the way of the Dodo.

After being asked by a fan at the 33-minute mark when the current title will be replaced, the WWE champion revealed a new title belt has been manufactured, but with an increase of 20 pounds in weight, Punk believes it is no better than the spinner title.

Instead of the title belt waiting in the wings to be debuted on WWE television, Punk wants to be the one to design the new WWE Championship belt that he would likely want to be much lighter than the current and potentially new title.

Even though the WWE wouldn’t go back to a past design, it would be great to see the WWE Championship return to the Undisputed Championship belt design that was replaced by the spinner championship in 2005.

The Undisputed title belt had a great look to it, as it fit much better with the other championships in the company than the gaudiness of the spinner title that we have had to deal with for the past seven years.

While the return of the Undisputed Championship is very doubtful this year, the only hope is that Punk puts his input into the new belt so we get a respectable championship for the top champion in the WWE.

With a possible new WWE Championship belt coming in the near future, what would you like the new title to look like, or would you like to see the company bring a past design for their marquee championship?
