WWE News: CM Punk Claims There's a New WWE Title Belt Waiting to Debut

Spinners went out of style after they peaked with the Three 6 Mafia single "Ridin' Spinners" back in 2003, but that hasn't stopped the WWE from keeping one front and center on their flagship championship belt to this day.

Thankfully, this may not be the case for much longer. Current WWE champion CM Punk let the cat out of the bag—there's a new WWE championship belt waiting in the wings.

Over the weekend, Punk held a Q&A session at Wizard World Philadelphia 2012, and it was all captured on video. There's quite a few gems to sort through in the Q&A, but this particular tidbit is making the rounds in regards to the WWE title.

A young boy stepped up to the plate and asked the million-dollar question, and I quote: "Are you going to get rid of John Cena's stupid spinner belt?"

Somebody had to ask it—it might as well be a representative of the demographic that the WWE thinks likes that silly belt, right?

Punk's reply was promising:

"

I email people that you people don't know exist and I bother them constantly about this damn thing. There is a new title. I've seen it. I'll probably get in trouble for saying it, but I don't know if it's any better than the current one.

It's better than this. They literally just made it. It's about 20 pounds heavier than this one. I keep preaching that I want to be the guy, if I'm not the guy who doesn't produce a new title, then I'll be a liar, and I don't want to be a liar. It's out there, and it's coming soon. Probably a lot sooner than the ice cream bars.

Save for a little flip flop on whether or not the new belt is better looking than the current belt, the answer was straightforward. 

We're now left to wonder when the belt may debut. A safe bet would be the 1000th episode of Raw, which is coming up, but who knows with the WWE when it comes to something as simple as revealing an updated look for a title belt?
