Ooh la la, he's a superstar!

The Miz has been on an interesting ride as of late. I say interesting because it is amazing to see how someone so high on the radar a year ago could have fallen so far off the ladder.

Yet, despite all these shortcomings, I cannot stress more that there is something good happening in his career right now and these "dark" moments are just a test or a step in the right direction.

He is the star of the upcoming WWE film The Marine 3: Homefront, having taken over the role from previous superstars John Cena and Ted DiBiase. This is a great step forward in one's career, as movie deals usually mean you are on to something.

From where I stand, The Miz is a terrific on-screen personality. He has his own style, his own lines and a nice wrestling career resume so far. I still think he's got that "It" factor, but needs to hit the refresh button now before it's too late.

Leaving to film a new movie will allow him just enough time to do that.

You can almost say he's got it all: the looks, the skills and the hot girlfriend (ex-Diva Maryse). What now, then?

There have been a few successful crossover stars in WWE, some more than others. Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold and The Rock to name a few, Rock being the success story you never dreamed of. They moved their skill and energy to the front of a camera and won over people who probably never heard of them before.

Same thing with The Miz. Throughout his time as WWE Champion, he was seen on magazine covers, news reports, sports games, video-game covers and many, many benefits. That is a big deal.

Now, it's on to movie roles and who can blame him? He's got what it takes, no?

At this point in time, no one can say if he will turn "face" for sure, but allowing him to take time away to pursue a new project will allow for people to actually miss him a little and then, just like Christian, he will return and stand against someone villainous and the turn will be complete—simple as that.

What would cement him as a real crossover star would be a role in some sort of romantic comedy alongside Jennifer Aniston or someone like that. If fans can see him in that light, no telling how high he could go.

Who knows? Maybe Miz has incredible acting talents as well. Stranger things have happened in the world.

Could hosting Saturday Night Live be far away? I'd stay up for that.
