Manchester United have already lost Paul Pogba to Juventus, and now it looks like Nani may be moving to a new team this season.

Contract negotiations have hit a deadlock and Manchester United look like they would rather cash in on the Portuguese winger, than to give in to his wage demands.

Nani's comments are what is sparking these transfer rumors. From the Guardian:

I have had five seasons at Manchester United and have won all the titles. Now I am really happy but I don’t know about my future. Now I will study opportunities. Football is not only about England or Spain. It is possible to enjoy success in other countries. My agent is waiting on news about United. We have presented a counter-offer, and now we are waiting on an offer from the club.

There are ups and downs to losing Nani.

The Down Side

With 10 goals and 12 assists this season, Nani's contribution would be missed. He is one of the best wingers in the world. United would lose depth when Manchester City and Chelsea are adding class.

The Up Side

Losing Nani would not be the end of the world, and United would still have Ashely Young and Antonio Valencia.

Shinji Kagawa is an attacking threat. His addition would help soften the blow of losing Nani, and the transfer fee United would receive can bring in new players.

It could even help pay the outrageous transfer fee for Tottenham Hotspur's Luka Modric.

Where can I comment?
