The Irish (3-7, 12-9) are in the midst of having their season go the way of their football program—they are in a tailspin and it looks like they aren't going to be able to salvage this one.
UCLA (8-2, 18-4) is on top of the PAC-10 and having another fantastic season, despite having an incredibly young team. Their four losses have been to teams ranked at some point this season, and three of them were decided by four points or less.
Both teams are very dangerous from beyond the arc (both shoot over 39 percent), and have quality offensive stats in their favor. Both play in very good conferences, and a win for either team will say a lot for their program. Who knows, if this game puts on a great show, maybe this will mark the beginning of the Big East/PAC-10 Challenge. You heard it here first.
