The commitments keep on rolling for South Carolina, as the Gamecocks landed 3-star cornerback/safety prospect Ali Groves.

Groves committed to South Carolina late Tuesday evening, and word began to circulate shortly thereafter. Right now, Groves has an overall rating of 88 on the ratings.

The two main reasons Groves listed for committing to the Gamecocks were his relationship with defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward and USC's stellar international business school.

This is the sixth commitment in the month of May for the Gamecocks, and their 11th since the beginning of April. The Gamecocks are on a hot streak on the recruiting trail, and Groves continues that streak with his commitment Tuesday night.

Groves' highlight reel is very impressive. He shows a knack for making plays on both sides of the ball, but his future is on defense for the Gamecocks.

The CB has good speed, with a 4.5 40-yard-dash, and he stands 5'11". He's a strong tackler and should be able to add some weight without compromising his speed. He also has an outstanding GPA, so you know he can handle being a student-athlete at the next level.

The Gamecocks want and need Groves at the cornerback position, and that's where he'll start for South Carolina. His versatility will allow him to move over to the safety position if there is the need, but the Gamecocks hope he can solidify the cornerback depth chart for years to come.

Groves is the 14th commitment overall for the Gamecocks, and he chose USC over schools like Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.
