NHL 13 Cover Vote Update: John Tavares Moves on to the Semifinals

Michael DeSantisMay 25, 2012

Well Islander nation, we've done good, because John Tavares has triumphed over the top-seeded Pavel Datsyuk of the Red Wings.

Now in the semifinals, his next match is stud goaltender Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators, who is the three seed.

The campaign for Tavares has really sped up, which is a great sign. Other NHL stars have hopped on the Tavares support corps. Those include the Canadiens' PK Subban, the Blackhawks' Patrick Sharp, the Hurricanes' Jeff Skinner and the Lightning's Steven Stamkos.

The campaign page can be viewed here. Michael Grabner, Matt Martin and Matt Moulson are running the show on the Islanders front.

They have came up with the campaign idea of voting for John on the John where you vote for Tavares on your bathroom breaks.

Many pictures have been created to support the campaign including shots with all the Team Tavares allies, a beach, and a Harvard Baseball team spoof.

According to the Islanders website, John Tavares stated "All of the credit really goes to Islanders fans. I'm appreciative and excited to be in the final four and equally excited for the chance to showcase our passionate fan-base."

Islander fans, voting in the final four ends May 28, so get on that voting ballot! Let's go Islanders!
