WWE News: Update on Chris Jericho Suspension Following Incident in Brazil

Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely by the WWE for his actions involving the desecration of the country flag at a live event on Thursday in Brazil.

As you can see in the video above, Jericho balled up the Brazilian flag, threw it to the mat and kicked it, much to the shock and anger of the fans.

TMZ (via WrestlingInc.com) has the details on how serious the situation, which included police intervention, became.

Jericho was given an option - apologize to the fans or go to jail. Jericho apologized and the match was finished. Jericho was hurried to the back where police were waiting to speak to him. Cooler heads prevailed and Jericho was not arrested. WWE rushed him to the airport and out of the country, then announcing his suspension.

Following the announcement of his suspension by the WWE, it’s probably safe to say that Jericho's current run with the company is all but over. After returning in January, his inevitable departure to rejoin his band Fozzy is expected soon.

With Y2J set to leave the company at any moment, it's possible that the incident with the Brazilian flag could have been a work to write him off television.

Following his indefinite suspension, do you expect to see Jericho return to the company for his expected match with Randy Orton next month at No Way Out?
