Who Should Your Team Sign Till 2021?

CodyFeb 4, 2009

Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg, who signed a 12-year $73 million dollar deal, is now the third player to be signed until the 2021 NHL season, joining Islanders Rick DiPietro, and Capitals Alex Ovechkin. DiPietro was the first to start what seems to be a possible trend when he signed the longest contract in NHL History, with a 15-year $67.5 million deal. The Capitals followed suite in 2008, locking up "The Great 8" with a 13-year, $124 million contract.

Now the question is: who is next? Here's a thought for each team on what player they should lock up for the next 12 years, and how old that player will be in 2021.
