Stockport County 4-1 Hereford United
Stockport County produce an impressive performance to enhance their playoff credential.
Stockport, kicking towards the Cheadle End, kicks off, playing the ball back to Johnny Mullins. Mullins plays the ball over the top straight to Karl Broadhurst. Broadhurst then takes a very uncomfortable touch, before Domanic Blizzard intercepts it.
Blizzard rushes through one-on-one with the Hereford keeper and slots the ball home, 1-0 to Stockport after just 13 seconds.
Stockport continued to dominate the game as Hereford struggled to come to grips with a very tricky Edgeley Park pitch. Stockport had a number of corners, that led to opportunities to double their lead but couldn't capitalise on them.
Hereford who made the next move, on a brilliant run by Jennison Myrie-Williams, he burst down the right flank and got to the bye-line, pulling the ball back to Sam Hewson, who made no mistake from about 10 yards out.
However, Robbie Threllfall was on the wrong side of Myrie-Williams and couldn't get a tackle in.
Seven minutes later Stockport took the lead again, which was fully deserved. Threllfall took an in-swinging corners that was flicked on at the near post by Diagouraga then fell perfectly to Matty McNeil. McNeil performed a diving header and made no mistake from around five yards out.
Oli Johnson nearly made it 3-1 for the Hatters with a very powerful shot, which was well held by Samson in the Hereford goal.
They did make it 3-1 a few minutes later, with Matty Mainwaring scoring his first senior goal with a very neat finish in to the bottom right corner.
Stockport made it 4-1 on the 76th minute when a cross from Oli Johnson was turned goal wards by Matty McNeil. Samson saved the ball but then it fell to Leon McSweeney who made no mistake with Samson still on the ground.
It was a good return to form for the Hatters who had lost their previous two games and were not playing very well.
