Best TUF Winners in the UFC Today

0 of 8

The Ultimate Fighter has been an important part of the UFC since The Ultimate Fighter 1 debuted in 2005 and ended with one of the most iconic fights in UFC history—the bout between Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar.

In the following slides, I give you my picks for the best TUF winners who are in the UFC today.

8. John Dodson—UFC Flyweight

1 of 8

The winner of TUF season 14, John Dodson was a ball full of energy on the show.

He won the bantamweight title after knocking out T.J. Dillashaw in the finale. He dropped down to flyweight after that win and has since won an entertaining decision over Tim Elliott.

Look out, flyweights, "The Magician" is here to stay.

7. Tony Ferguson—UFC Lightweight

2 of 8

Tony Ferguson won TUF 13 with a nasty knockout of Ramsey Nijem.

He dropped to lightweight and has been on a tear ever since. Even though he lost his last fight by decision to Michael Johnson, Ferguson's combo of power wrestling and knockout power will get him in the winning column again soon enough.

6. Roy Nelson—UFC Heavyweight

3 of 8

Big Country won season 10 of TUF with a Round 1 knockout of Brendan Schaub. Nelson has since been a mainstay in the heavyweight division despite not having the best record of late.

He's a bjj blackbelt with knockout power and a chin made of granite. He's a fan favourite and never puts on a boring fight. Watch him in action this Saturday against Dave Herman at UFC 146.

5. Ryan Bader—UFC Light Heavyweight

4 of 8

Ryan Bader won season 8 of TUF with a TKO over Vinny Magalhaes. He has gone on to win fights against some big names including Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Keith Jardine.

He stumbled a little bit in fights against Jon Jones and Tito Ortiz, but has since recovered nicely with a KO win over Jason Brilz and a dominant decision over Rampage Jackson.

Next up for Bader is a fight with Lyoto Machida.

4. Nate Diaz—UFC Lightweight

5 of 8

Nate Diaz won season 5 of TUF with a shoulder injury by his fellow finalist Manny Gamburyan. Diaz has had an up and down career in the UFC until recently.

He's on an impressive streak of wins with an armbar finish of Takanori Gomi, a dominant decision over Donald Cerrone, and a spectacular guillotine choke over Jim Miller who had never been submitted before.

Diaz is now a top contender for the UFC lightweight title.

3. Michael Bisping—UFC Middleweight

6 of 8

Michale Bisping won the third season of TUF with a TKO victory over John Haynes.

Michael Bisping is an elite middleweight who is ranked in the top five. Despite his last loss to Chael Sonnen, he kept the fight competitive and did not fall much in the rankings.

He fights Tim Boetsch next at UFC 149.

2. Forrest Griffin—UFC Light Heavyweight

7 of 8

Forrest Griffin is the original ultimate fighter. He won season one of the show after his epic slug fest with Stephen Bonnar, which many people acknowledge as the best and most important fight in UFC history.

Griffin went from winning the first season of TUF to winning the UFC Light Heavyweight title after he defeated Rampage Jackson by decision at UFC 86.

1. Rashad Evans—UFC Light Heavyweight

8 of 8

Rashad Evans in my opinion is the most successful TUF winner in UFC history. He won season two of TUF with a split decision over Brad Imes.

He then went on to TKO Forrest Griffin to win the UFC Light Heavyweight title. The reason he is first on this list is because at UFC 145, Evans fought for the title for the second time in his career.
