Prospect's Walk-Off HR Debut 😱

Derek Jeter Publically Supports A-Rod

Bronx Baseball DailyFeb 3, 2009

NoMass.org has a banner on their website that says, “This man reads us,” referring to Brian Cashman. “So should you.”

Maybe it’s time for them to get a new banner because apparently Derek Jeter reads them as well.

This morning they had a post calling "The Captain" out because they wanted him to stand up for Alex Rodriguez in response to the not so nice comments made by Joe Torre in his book.

They were right. Jeter did have to do something. This is going to be story number one with the media this spring training and it has the potential to get ugly if Jeter didn’t come to the defense of his teammate. After all, if he didn’t that would be an endorsement  of everything Torre said in the book.

Today, for the first time, Jeter spoke up on the subject coming to Alex Rodriguez's defense. Even if he wouldn’t say anything bad about Torre. You can’t cross a bridge in one step.

“We’ve been down this road before. Alex is a teammate. I support him. Our whole team is behind him. We all support him,” Jeter said.

“To be quite honest with you, it’s old hearing the same questions. It’s something that’s been addressed before in the past. Everyone’s moved beyond it. And it doesn’t really need to be addressed again.”

So there you have it. Jeter vocalized support for Arod. This is what people have been asking continually asked him for and now they finally have it. I don’t feel different, do you?
