Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea: Frank Lampard Must Lead Blues to European Crown

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard's leadership and play in the midfield against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final will define his legacy as one of football's most talented players of this generation.

Lampard will likely captain the Blues since John Terry can't play because of suspension, so Lampard will have to be the vocal leader for Chelsea on Saturday.

Lampard has won multiple Premier League titles and multiple FA Cup titles, but he hasn't lifted the European Cup yet in his career. It's the one glaring hole in his footballing resume.

He knows that beating Munich on Saturday would lift the club to new heights, saying via Soccernet:

No matter how decorated Lampard's domestic resume ends up, the lack of a Champions League title will be one of the first things fans remember about his Chelsea days.

Over the last few years, Chelsea has made it their mission to find European success, whether it be spending lots of money in the transfer market or hiring and firing multiple managers.

Leading Chelsea to the Champions League crown for the first time in club history would cement Lampard's place among the very best English players of all time.

If the Blues are to become the first London club to win Europe's ultimate club prize, Lampard must have the game of his life against Munich on Saturday evening.
