I Hear Voices Pt 8: Hallelujah! WWE Finally Pulls The Plug On Rourke Vs Jericho

Ladies and gents stop holding your breaths. No more confusion, no more aggravation. WWE.COM has finally confirmed that Mickey Rourke will not wrestle Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25. Rourke's pubilicist confirmed that Rourke wants to focus more on his career. I think that L.A. times article on him about participating in Wrestlemania 25 hurting hi Oscar chances got him. It's ok though. He made a Robert Downey Jr. comeback (see 2008 Ironman mvoie). One day after I publish the top 5 reasons why he shouldn't wrestle at wrestlemania I feel relieved. He wasn't that prominent anyway...at least to the kids. It felt luckluster from the start and I feel for the WWE. Not because the deal caved through but because they saw the first opportunity and ran with it. They should watch Edge, the ultimate opportunist. There was more than 2 months left before Wrestlemania when they made the decision and it was a bad one. WWE might be a little ashamed because they had Rourke trash talk Jericho on the SAG awards red carpet and they did that whole Larry King segment with Jericho and Rourke. WWE can bounce back its a loss, but not a big one. They were better off with him not wrestling anyway and it could have very well been the best choice in Rourke's career. I think Rourke heard voices and so did WWE. They heard the negative response and feedback. They even read the articles I suppose. Even good ol' J.R. didn't want to see Mickey Rourke wrestle Chris Jericho and I couldn't agree more. This is a blessing in the sky people. From this we can gain a better celebrity...well at least one who's more prominent and we can dig out a better match. Jillian Hall vs Britney Spears anyone? (sarcasm) But what if it did happen? Everyone knows and loves/hate Britney. They should look back at their past celebrities. It looks like the money is with athletes and or Pro athletes. Bam Bam Bigelow vs Lawrence Taylor (LT), Mike Tyson special ref in HBK vs Stone Cold Steve Austin, and last year's Floyd Mayweather vs Big Show, which I believe was worked fantastically regardless of hating or enjoying the match. Jericho is free once more. No more celebrity match. He won't have to job to a guy who can't see moves and would be unbelievable to see him be put over. Even the most gullible people would say "No way"! So back to the drawing board for WWE. I hope they get someone good and don't crack under pressure cause there's an old "Real American" who would love to come back for the hulkamaniacs, for the right price..I'm talking about six figures. Let's hope we don't have to see him there.
