Manchester United: Former United Star Hints at Possible Sneijder Bid
We've reached that point in the season when transfer rumours will start to dominate 75 percent of Sky Sports News' daily coverage.
Of course, most of the time these stories have little to no real backing and are merely speculation cooked up by the British press in order to keep the viewing public engaged.
Who could forget the ongoing saga last summer that revolved around Dutchย playmakerย Wesley Sneijder?

And it seems that despite the current campaign not even being over and done with yet, that same story will be cropping up again over the coming months.
After a dismal season for Sneijder's club side, Inter Milan, it looks like the man from Holland might be looking for a move away from the San Siro.
Inter currently sit in sixth place in the Serie A table with just one matchย remaining in their regular season.
With theย allocationย of Champions League spots being restricted to just the top three places after a poor showing from Italian sides in the last few European competitions, this all but guarantees Europa League football (at best) for the 2010 Champions of Europe.
As a result, it calls into question again theย possibilityย of a move out of Italy for Wesley.
Former United star striker Teddy Sherringham believes that there is a huge chance that this could happen.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Sherringham, who scored a last-minute equaliser in the 1999 Champions League final for the Red Devils, stated that he would be surprised if Fergie did not once again attempt to bring Sneijder to Old Trafford.
"The manager tried to sign Sneijder last year and when he likes someone he very rarely lets go of that bone and he will go back in for them.
He did the same for a lot of playersโlike Ruud Van Nistelrooy. He had a broken leg when he first went in for him but he went back in for him a year laterโit wouldnโt surprise me if he goes back in for Sneijder and he finally gets his man.
"
Of course, at this point any United fan starting to get their hopes up that Sneijder is going to be bid for is kidding themselves.
It would be silly to have too much faith in the words of one man who, although a United legend, no longer has any real input at the club.
That being said, a loyal servant to Fergie like Teddy Sherringham probably has a great idea as to how the big man's mind works.
The real question is, will United even need Sneijder?
The answer is yes.
With the development of young talent like Tom Cleverly, and the possible summerย acquisitionsย of the likes of Nicolas Gaitan and Shinji Kagawa, it is arguable that United's midfield will reach a level of strength that it has not seen since theย departureย of Cristiano Ronaldo.ย
I'm not saying it's wrong to have faith in these players, but ultimately one fact remainsโSneijder is one of the best players in the world at the moment, in terms of natural ability, anyway.
Admittedly, his form this season has taken a drastic turn for the worst, but there is nobody who can deny his potential to change matches in his side's favour.
Kagawa and Gaitan are great players, but I'm pretty sure if you asked a selection of 100 United fans which one of the three men in question you wanted playing at Old Trafford the most, around 90 percent of them would plug for Wesley.
At this stage, nothing is written in stone, but if Sherringham is correct, and Fergie does go back for the man who United have wanted for nearly half a decade now, then the 2012/13 campaign could be one of Manchester United's best for a very long while.
Let the Sneijder summer sagaย recommence.ย
