The San Diego Chargers will give former NFL star Junior Seau a fitting tribute at Qualcomm Stadium on Friday, where fans can remember the career of the linebacker and hear guest speakers talk about him, according to Pro Football Talk.

On Friday, May 11, the Chargers will celebrate the life of linebacker Junior Seau at their home stadium.  The event begins at 6:30 p.m. PT, and both admission and parking are free.

During the event, special guest speakers will share their memories and stories of Junior Seau.

The parking lot will open at 2:00 p.m. PT, and the gates to the stadium will open at 4:30 p.m. PT.  A large crowd is expected, so anyone who plans to attend is encouraged to arrive early.

Seau, to many fans, is the most recognizable player in the history of the Chargers franchise. He spent 13 of his 20 pro seasons with the team. The amount of fans he has in the San Diego community is extraordinary.

It was hard not to admire Seau as a player. He gave 100 percent effort on every play, respected the game and his opponents and was one of the better defensive players we have seen in the last 25 years.

His work in the community has also had a tremendous affect on many young kids, and working with Seau is certainly a memory they won't forget.

Honoring Seau at Qualcomm Stadium, where fans and friends of Seau can gather and remember his career, is a great idea.

I hope that the other two teams he played for, the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, also have some sort of remembrance for Seau before or during the 2012 NFL season.
