Miguel Cotto has the difficult task of fighting Floyd Mayweather, Jr. this Saturday, May, 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Despite the fact "Pretty Boy" Floyd is the overwhelming favorite, Cotto can still walk away victorious.

Of course, this is easier said than done, as "Junito" will have to work extra hard to shock the world and hand Mayweather his first career loss.

With that said, here's what Cotto must do to pull off the major upset.

Take Charge Early

It's no secret that Mayweather is one of, if not the, quickest guys to ever put on gloves and step into the ring.

His stamina is superb, as it helps him withstand the heavy punches he endures during a fight.

This means that Cotto has to come out strong. Digging himself into a whole in the early rounds will be extremely detrimental to Cotto's chances.

If Cotto doesn't come firing right out of the gate, he'll have a rough fight Saturday night.

Hit Hard and Hit Often

Cotto has to turn this into an all out brawl and try to make Mayweather get sloppy.

Landing heavy hits throughout the course of the fight will wear "Money" down, allowing Cotto to deliver the knockout punch.

Obviously, this is much easier said than done, but something Cotto has to strive for this weekend. Cotto isn't likely to win in a decision, so knocking out Mayweather is his best bet.

If he's able to hammer Mayweather with crushing hits time and time again, Cotto can win.

Let's be real here. "Pretty Boy" Floyd is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, and he's not going to be easy to beat.

Considering the fact he's headed to jail this Summer, Mayweather is going to want to make the most out of this fight.

That means he'll be looking to make quick work of Cotto.

"Junito" needs to hope and pray that Mayweather has an off night and that he isn't mentally prepared for this fight. Cotto can easily take advantage of that if it does happen, although it is doubtful.
