WWE: 8 Potential Storylines for Chris Jericho After CM Punk

David LevinJun 7, 2018

At some point, all good things must come to an end.

You have to figure after CM Punk, Chris Jericho will be looking for another program that will continue to show off his talents and not his shortcomings.

But the question is "who" poses the best angle for the former Undisputed Champion? And if he wins Sunday night, which I think he does, who steps up to challenge "the best ever?"

Jericho is still a world-class talent, but in my opinion, he's not as sharp as he was in years past. He's not as entertaining, and the current angle involving the "alcoholic" CM Punk and his family history of "issues" was taken a bit far and was poorly written (again, this is my opinion).

So after he wins (or loses for that matter) what happens to Jericho? The angle with Punk should end and a new door will open. Do we see the obscure? Do we see him on SmackDown?

So many angles and so many questions.

Here's a look at what could happen to Jericho after Sunday night.

He Turns Face and Meets Brock Lesnar

1 of 8

I know the Lesnar/Cena angle is hot, but at some point, I would love to see the two of these guys go to the mat.

As we all know, Jericho was critical of Lesnar in his final match in the UFC, which led to comments by Jericho that were unkind (He took a dive).

Could this lead to a feud, maybe Jericho talking about the "fake" Lesnar and how he's only in wrestling for himself, like John Cena and Edge have eluded to?

Takes a Run at John Cena

Why not?

The fans would enjoy this. First, Jericho beats CM Punk, then feels his oats and has to challenge the WWE's meal ticket.

If Jericho has the WWE Title, then Cena gets back in the title picture with a feud with Punk.

Actually, this could be a program we could see built up as a SummerSlam matchup.

Retires from Wrestling

This is another strong possibility.

Jericho has plenty of interests outside the wrestling arena.

Music, television, maybe movies. He's popular in entertainment circles. He could lose on Sunday night and leave the WWE.

For how long, who knows. I am sure he will reappear at some point.

The Miz Becomes His Tag Team Partner

These two together would be AWESOME!

Two Roddy Piper wannabes. They both have great talent and are amazing on the mic.

It also would give The Miz a chance to be prevalent again in WWE circles.

He Faces Daniel Bryan After Bryan Turns "Face"

5 of 8

Just like many of us wanted to see Punk and Jericho go at it and Daniel Bryan and Bret Hart in a match when Hart was in his prime, it would be great to see these two go at it.

I get the feeling at some point we will see Bryan become a fan favorite again and challenge Jericho, which would be a real treat for everyone.

Randy Orton Is Available

6 of 8

If the angle with Kane ends, seeing these to go at it would be a treat.

Orton has become more of a midcard wrestler as of late when he should be challenging for the World Title.

The feud with Kane hurts him in that respect.

Could Orton come to Raw and challenge Jericho for the title?

Kofi Kingston Wants a Piece of the Best

7 of 8

I want to see Kofi Kingston get out of purgatory, and this is a good way to do it.

If Jericho is the champion, giving Kingston a push could be good for both of them.

I would love to see Kingston get a main event match.

Moves to SmackDown, Sets His Sights on Sheamus

8 of 8

This makes sense since the two of them were in the final of the Royal Rumble.

Could we see champion vs. champion?

Or if he does not win Sunday night, does he get in the Big White's face?

There's something sinister about Jericho and the fact he will challenge anyone on the WWE roster.

That's what makes him so great.
