Andrew Symonds is one of, if not the most controversial cricketers of all time. Renowned for his dreadlocks and zinc lips, he has never veered far from the cricketing spotlight both on and off the field.

Yesterday Symonds appeared on an Australian radio show and was quick to add yet another contentious moment to his long history of controversy. Speaking on air, the Australian international swore as he made a negative comment about New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum.

This action sees him now face a disciplinary hearing from Cricket Australia, but this kind of fiasco is no stranger to the life of Andrew Symonds. Whether it’s dealing with streakers or simply missing a team meeting, "Roy" has done it, albeit in his own unique way.

During the Ashes series of 2005, the sight of Andrew Symonds was not one to be feared by the English, as most of the action seen of him was not run scoring but rather sat on the boundaries' edge with drinks. The ironic reason for this? Symonds had been involved in a heavy night of drinking with friends, which resulted in missing a team meeting.

One would like to suggest the drinks consumed by Symonds were not in the same bracket as those he handed to his fellow players.

Symonds' love of team meetings was further shown last year as he left for a spot of fishing instead. Reports have said that the only bite he received was that of stand-in skipper Michael Clarke.

Nobody can argue that streakers are crazy people. Not only do they endure public humiliation, but certainly where I come from, also face the bitter cold most of the year round. But after it all, most can settle down for a good laugh at their expense.

However, unfortunately for one certain streaker this is not the mindset of Mr. Symonds. As he stood batting with his side 34-3, Andrew took matters into his own hands, tackling the poor naked man to the ground.

Despite all this, there is no denying the talent of the man. A strong hitter of the ball, world class fielder, and more than handy with the ball, he has impacted cricket in the right way as well as the wrong and hilarious. We are all left sat on the edges of our seats in wait of what the next chapter of the story of Andrew Symonds might bring.
