The WWE website has just announced a new match for Extreme Rules, Nikki Bella vs. Beth Phoenix for the WWE Divas Championship. This match comes after Nikki defeated Phoenix for her title on Monday night's edition of WWE Raw SuperShow with a roll-up after Phoenix storyline injured her ankle while jumping off the apron.

Phoenix was diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain, having difficulty standing and walking around on her left ankle.

Word on the street is that Phoenix's injury is not legit and that she was just selling during the Raw broadcast on Monday and when she was seen in public afterward. I can and will congratulate Beth on her tremendous selling. I, myself, thought it was real, and I hope that her superb selling gained her some points with the WWE higher-ups.

Another rumor that has been running through the web is that The Bella Twins are on their way out, while Kharma (formerly known as Awesome Kong) is returning to the company in the near future. The Bellas' current WWE contracts expire on Tuesday, May 1, and with Kharma vowing to destroy The Bellas after she returned to the company last year, this would fit in nicely on how to write the cunning twin sisters off television if they do not renew their contracts.

Nevertheless, it should be an interesting situation with the divas' division in the next couple of weeks, and for the first time since SummerSlam 2011, I find myself looking forward to what the divas will bring on the table. With several young diva prospects such as Kaitlyn, Maxine, Raquel Diaz and Audrey Marie from FCW, I would like to see WWE focus more on their divas division throughout 2012, and this may very well be the start of that.
