White Sox pitcher Philip Humber threw a perfect game in a 4-0 win over the Mariners, becoming only the 21st pitcher to do so. SI cover girl Kate Upton tweeted at Humber welcoming him to the "Perfect Club", which she's famously become the hostess of for MLB2K12.
ESPN's Outside The Lines reported that New Orleans GM Mickey Loomis allegedly used an electronic device to eavesdrop on visiting coaches during Saints’ home games during the 2002-2004 seasons. Loomis is already set to serve an 8 game suspension without pay for Bountygate. For his part, Loomis has said that the accusations are "1,000 percent false.”
San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs was reportedly involved in a high speed convoy of exotic cars that received a police escort on its way to Atlantic City. One witness said he saw flashing lights in his rear-view mirror and had to speed up to get over to the right and out of the way. The witness said that the cars "raced by" at speeds upward of 100 mph and had their license plates covered with tape.
Baltimore Orioles' Nick Johnson is having a rough season. The designated hitter has yet to register a hit this season and, according to ESPN's fantasy projections, is slated to go 0 for 233 this year.
