Jermain Taylor vs. Caleb Truax: Comeback Won't Last with Vulnerable Chin
Jermain Taylor delivered Caleb Truax his first professional loss on Friday night despite being knocked down in the ninth round.
You can look at this in two ways: Taylor showed extreme guts and resilience to get up and continue dealing blows.
Or you can look at the opposite side of things.

One can't help wondering what would have happened if Taylor was in the ring with somebody who has more talent and punching power.
I'm on the latter side.
You can't fault Taylor (30-4-1) for wanting to make a comeback, and you have to give him all the props in the world for getting another victory in his solid career, but I don't see it lasting.
Taylor should have had an easy time with Truax (18-1-1) if this was four years ago...let's be honest. He is clearly the better fighter and he proved it despite lacking in delivering significant blows.
The final judges' scores were 98-91, 97-92 and 97-94.
Where does Taylor go from here?
I'm sure we'll see him in the ring in the near future, but I am worried about his in-ring ability. If he struggled this massively with Truax, a second-tier middleweight, I don't see him having any success against stiffer competition.
One of these days, he will step in the ring and it's going to hit him hard. He will get knocked out and that will open his eyes a little bit.
Hopefully he will prove me wrong, because he deserves to have all the success in the world after his concussion issues, but I don't see a bright future for Taylor.
