I may be going out on a limb here, but hey, what's the fun in picking the obvious?
To read what Joe had to say about his pick, Triple H, check out http://bleacherreport.com/articles/114625-joe-vs-jen-2-who-will-beat-ric-flairs-16-world-titles-record
As for my pick...
He made a name for himself as half of one of the most dominant tag teams in the last 10 years.
With a record-breaking effort of 12 Tag Team Championships, it's no secret that Edge has an impressive record of capturing gold.
But could he break the great Ric Flair's record?
The Rated R Superstar has had an exciting 11 years of his career, beating opponents like John Cena, Randy Orton, and Mick Foley, among others.
Oh, and not to mention the fact that while they were a tag team, Edge and Orton defeated Ric Flair and his then tag team partner “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
He is a five time Intercontinental Champion, and has held both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships three times apiece.
His six world titles tie that of The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and totals more than the likes of Batista, Brock Lesnar, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels.
Oh, and Edge also has more world titles than the WWE's favorite son, John Cena.
Not to mention the fact that Edge has done something neither the Nature Boy nor the Game have been able to accomplish, being the only man in WWE history to hold all six major titles on both RAW and SmackDown!
If you want to get technical, Edge (and Joe's pick of Triple H) already have broken Ric Flair's title number, as both have held more world championships in the WWF/WWE than Flair has: he's only held the title twice since being with the company.
Edge has a chance to catch up with both the King of Kings and his mentor this Sunday, live on pay-per-view* when he faces WWE Champion Jeff Hardy at the Royal Rumble. We'll all just have to watch and see what happens.
*That's a gift from me to you, Vince McMahon. I'm plugging your show to make up for what my Superstar of the Year Randy Orton did you last Monday. Your welcome.
