WWE Raw Results: Top 15 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryJun 2, 2018

Yet another edition of WWE Raw is in the books, and it was quite the show. Taking place in London, every single talent brought out his or her best, and it was a nice effort.

With Extreme Rules in less than two weeks, this was an important two hours for WWE. If I had to grade the Red Brand last night, I would give them a B-.

What were the highlights? Let's find out!

15. My "It" Girl

1 of 15

The Great Khali and Big Show defeated the tag team champions. Thankfully, Primo and Epico were not defending their gold on this night.

In the end, I doubt very few cared about the match.

This was all about one person.

No, not Abraham Washington watching on...

My "it" girl Rosa Mendes!

She, once again, stole the spotlight. Even in a losing effort, everything was about her. Week in and week out, she amazes me. Keep up the great work!

14. Kane Destroys Ryder

2 of 15

How's that Ryder Revolution going?

Oh yeah, Zack Ryder never changed his gimmick and became serious. He continued being a goof ball, and his run is all but over now.

Kane beat him down before their match even began. It showed his dominance, and I liked it.

The monster then had a few choice words for Randy Orton. Their feud will likely end at Extreme Rules, and there is only one acceptable outcome there.

13. Lord Tensai Speaks

3 of 15

I didn't mind Lord Tensai speaking backstage.

It would have been nice to have Sakamoto do the talking, but that was not the case. This was a very short segment, but it all made sense later on in the evening.

12. Truth Segments

4 of 15

R-Truth continues his mid-card comedy character.

Just last June, he headlined a pretty nice selling pay-per-view event. Now, he is talking to "nobody" backstage all night.

He spent the night looking for a job for Teddy Long. Maybe the SmackDown general manager again?

Unless something comes of this, it was a big waste of time. The only bright spot was Hornswoggle getting some television time.

11. Yes Lock?

5 of 15

The "Yes Lock" does not have a nice ring to it. I hope it grows on me over time. Right now, it is a lousy name for a finishing move.

The backstage segment with Kofi Kingston, AJ and Daniel Bryan was fine. All three played their role, and it was well received from the live audience.

I still wonder what the relationship is with AJ and Bryan...

10. Kofi vs. Bryan

6 of 15

They worked a good match.

Of course, both men know how to perform inside the squared circle. It is nice to see a heel get a clean win every now and then. Another company could learn a few things from that.

After Bryan won, Sheamus ran down to the ring. He was ready to kick Daniel once again, but he ran away. Simple, yet effective!

9. United States Championship

7 of 15

Santino Marella defended his title against David Otunga.

I actually thought we may see a new champion here. That did not happen, as the Cobra struck yet again. This match was entertaining, and the crowd enjoyed it.

8. Eve's Idea?

8 of 15

This was a small topic.

Eve Torres talked to John Laurinaitis backstage. She had an idea from last week to discuss with him.

They went into another room to talk.

Were we supposed to care about that? Was the main event opponent the big reveal? What was the purpose of that segment? Something with Miz?

7. Brodus Clay

9 of 15

First, let me compliment the women out there at ringside. Vickie Guerrero, Naomi and Cameron all looked fantastic last night in London!

Now to the match, Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler never really started. It was quickly stopped, due to Jack Swagger coming in the ring.

The women began to brawl, and the Funky Crew stood tall. They danced, and I loved it...

6. Extras

10 of 15

WWE aired a great tribute to Chief Jay Strongbow. Job well done!

Next week is a three hour Raw. No WWE Draft. No King of the Ring. Nothing! Just an extra hour thrown out there that will have a small rating, before the normal start time kicks off.

The live crowd was great in London. Of course, they couldn't resist the "Sexual Chocolate" and "Albert" chants. Other than a few other instances, I enjoyed them.

Where was The Miz? I could have sworn Mr. Excitement teased him doing something last week. I guess that was thrown out the window, huh? That was disappointing.

I watched the show without any spoilers. How did everybody else watch Raw last night? I am very curious as to how many fans read the results before hand...

5. Cena Promo

11 of 15

John Cena cut a good promo. It was nothing special, but it made Brock Lesnar seem like a major deal.

That is a good thing.

With him not in the building, their match needed to be focused on for Extreme Rules, which is only two weeks away.

I fear for Cena's safety against Lesnar. He may not make it out of that match in one piece.

Johnny Ace came out and put Cena in an Extreme Rules match for later on. I was dead set on his opponent being The Miz based on last week, but it was certainly not him.

4. CM Drunk?

12 of 15

This feud is starting to lose me. Chris Jericho showing Punk leaving a bar (pub)? Is that what we are resorting to now? This is getting ridiculous.

CM Punk needs to defeat Chris Jericho at Extreme Rules and end this. A Chicago street fight is an excellent way to do so. Punk retains his gold, and Jericho finds something else to do.

Punk's family can be there in the front row, and the live audience is sure to be excited. Both men will put on a great show, but this "drinking" feud is nearing an end.

It was fun while it lasted...

3. WWE Title Match

13 of 15

With that being said, I loved the opening 20 minutes or so.

CM Punk defended his WWE Championship against Mark Henry. Both men work well together, and it showed once again.

The champion (rightfully) won, and he used the stipulation to his advantage. It was a perfect teaser for Extreme Rules in his home town.

My only issue is that this is the third week in a row Raw has had a WWE title match. Is that some sort of record? Somebody please check the WWE history on that one...

A WWE Championship match on television should be special. For the past three weeks, we have seen the title defended. That needs to stop.

2. Tensai Pins Cena

14 of 15

Read that headline again.

Tensai pins Cena.

You think WWE is serious about this man's return now?

I had mixed feelings on this main event, but the positives outweigh the negatives.

Yes, this match should have been saved for a big event. Yes, these two could have a nice feud later on. Yes, this could have been built up more.

However, I understand what WWE was doing here. Lord Tensai needed something to get back in everybody's mind. His weekly "squash" matches were not doing much to impress the masses.

Putting him in there with Cena showed fans that this man is for real. He is supposed to be a major star, and it finally showed last night with Tensai winning a main event. I also liked seeing the mist return.

Again, Tensai reminds me of Umaga. Even during Umaga's build in 2006, he picked up tainted wins over Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Just like last night, the "new" talent picked up a huge win.

The story continues that Cena is on a "losing streak" and his "era" may have ended at WrestleMania. That is a nice story, and it was even better to give a huge win to a deserving Tensai.

1. Brock Lesnar Interview

15 of 15

Brock Lesnar is not a Superstar.

He is simply Brock Lesnar.

Wow, did I love this! If WWE takes away one aspect from UFC, it is using these little features. We rarely see these sit down segments anymore in the wrestling business.

WWE used them for Undertaker vs. Triple H last year. They did a little bit of that with John Cena and The Rock this year as well. Doing so makes the match seem "real" and really is an amazing tool.

This three minute interview with Brock Lesnar was top notch. He played up his history and tore down John Cena. All the while walking the line of promoting a "fight," he kept it serious.

There were no jokes. No one liners. Nothing confusing or illogical. No insiders remarks. Nothing that broke the fourth wall.

This was simply Brock Lesnar talking about beating people up.

A+ segment!
