Cam Newton Would Like Your Vote to Win the Madden 13 Cover

The Madden 13 cover vote is in the semifinal stages, and Cam Newton wants to come out on top

Some players probably didn't mind their elimination from the original field of 32. Many believe this year's cover jinx will be out in full force, with the "13" bringing with it some type of hybrid ultra-curse or jinx.

However, the Carolina Panthers Pro-Bowl quarterback isn't one of those players. In fact, he can be found lobbying for your votes via his official Facebook page:

Newton holds just a surprisingly slim lead over San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis.

This was the first time that Newton has acknowledged his feelings one way or the other of possibly landing on the cover of the official video game of the NFL.

We probably shouldn't be surprised. It was hardly a year ago when Newton said that he wanted to be an 'icon'. With a few more of your votes, he'll take a large step towards exactly that.
