Fantasy Basketball Comparison: Von Wafer vs. Mike Miller
In the past month, the Houston Rockets'ย Von Waferย has been a scoring machine. Heโs averaging 16.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers per game. Heโs even shooting at a healthy clip at 51.9 percent.ย
Granted, he could be better at the line (71.4 percent), but neither that nor his 0.9 turnovers per game will really hinder a fantasy team.
Itโs amazing to take a look at his numbers pre-New Yearโs Day and post-New Yearโs Day. Itโs like he flipped a switch. I guess we know what his New Yearโs Resolution was.

Yet despite his surge, heโs owned in just 20 percent of Yahoo and 4.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
Meanwhile,ย Mike Millerย of the Minnesota Timberwolves is owned in 67 percent of Yahooย and 80.8 percent of ESPN leagues. Miller not only has struggled with an ankle injury but is yielding minutes to Rodney Carney.
In the last month, Miller is averaging 5.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. Heโs hardly earning his reputation as a sharp shooter with 0.6 three-pointers per game, a 33.3 percent field goal percentage, and a 52.9 percent free throw percentage.ย
Heck, Shaq is shooting 65.6 percent from the line over the past month.ย
Miller's 1.1 turnovers per game arenโt terrible, butย they are still higher than Waferโs. Perhaps it's time to considerย Wafer for a fantasy spot. Some food for thought. Pun intended.
