Things are starting to get interesting as NASCAR heads to the always-competitive Texas Motor Speedway. The fast mile-and-a-half track never fails to provide entertaining races where no fewer than 15 to 20 drivers can take home the trophy.
The television schedule for the weekend in Texas is, as usual, jam-packed with wall-to-wall coverage on ESPN, Speed, and of course Fox. Radio-wise you can follow the action on PRN and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio.
Nationwide Coverage (all listed times ET)
Speed will be live the afternoon of Friday, April 13th from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m., covering both the Sprint Cup and the Nationwide practices. The Nationwide qualifying starts at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
In primetime on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. is the NASCAR Countdown Show, followed at 8:30 p.m. with the running of the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300. The post-race is on Speed with Trackside airing at 11 p.m. with a look back at the Nationwide race and a look ahead the Sprint Cup race.
Sprint Cup Coverage
Saturday things start at 5 p.m. on Speed with the prerace show NASCAR Race Day which will take fans all the way up until 7 p.m., when they hand things over to Fox. The big network will take over and the Hollywood Hotel prerace show will run about a half hour.
At 7:20 p.m., the Samsung Mobile 500 will run from Texas Motor Speedway on Fox. The postrace show will air on Speed starting at 1 1p.m. with NASCAR Victory Lane.
Radio-wise, Friday’s running of the Nationwide Race and Saturday night’s Sprint Cup Race can be heard nationally on PRN. Prerace shows will air one hour prior to the race. Meanwhile, the most extensive pre-race and post-race coverage will be on Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio and they will of course carry the race feed from PRN.
