Welcome to BR5, your daily source for sports and pop culture news.

Today’s episode of BR5 gets you up to date with everything from Lamar Odom's decline to a statue of Starbury.

After parting ways with the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year Lamar Odom, the Dallas Mavericks are speaking out about the big man.  Odom clashed with management after his numbers declined significantly.  Former teammate and troublemaker Metta World Peace recently said that Odom can come back to the Lakers, as a ball boy.

Stephon Marbury recently led the Beijing Ducks to their first ever CBA championship. The fans have shown their appreciation by erecting a bronze statue of the point guard.

Producers from The Surrealist, an upcoming biopic on the life of Salvador Dali, have approached Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez about playing Dali's factotum social secretary named Potassa.  Unfortunately for the movie-makers, ARod’s reps said he's not interested and, “He’s really focused on the season and on winning a championship.”

After his recent return to the WWE, Brock Lesnar engaged in a powerful staring contest with heavyweight John Cena.  The two engaged in a tussle that ended with Cena covered in blood.

Yu Darvish is undefeated after his first and much-anticipated debut for the Texas Rangers.  His performance, however, was unimpressive, and one fan stole the show.
