Brazilian Legend Pelé Gets Social with New Twitter Account
We've all seen our grandparents try to work their voice-mail. My mother just figured out how to text message. Don't get me started on Skype and Facetime.
Now 71-year-old footballing legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento (aka Peleฬ) has joined Twitter.
The Brazilian's first tweet was a simple welcome to his fans and supporters:

Just nine hours after registering his account, Peleฬ already had more than 110,000 followers on the social networking site.
During his international career, Peleฬ won three World Cup titles with Brazil. He was named the tournament's "Best Young Player" in 1958 and received the Golden Ball in 1970.
At club level, Pelรฉ made more than 600 appearances for Santos.
During his time there, the Brazilian club won 10 state championships. In both 1962 and 1963, Santos won the Copa Libertadores as well as the Intercontinental Cup.
He finished his career with two seasons playing for the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League.
In 1999, the International Olympic Committee named Pelรฉ its "Athlete of the Century." The following year, Pelรฉ and Diego Maradona shared the honor of being named FIFA's "Player of the Century."
