Kimbo Slice: The Best MMA Fighter of All Time

Matt RandallCorrespondent IJanuary 20, 2009

I think we have all heard of the fighting phenomenon Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, or should I say, Kevin "Glass Jaw" Ferguson. Kimbo appeared in his fighting debut on the highly sought after Internet videos of him fighting other highly trained and skilled fighters via YouTube.

His first fight against Bo Cantrell, who's professional record at the time was 10 wins and 10 losses and was on a streak of four losses going into the fight, stopped him early due to submission from punches.

After that, Kimbo fought Tank Abbott, who had lost his three previous fights and stopped him quickly with a KO. The next victim in the onslaught of Kimbo would be the highly skilled and decorated fighter James Thompson, who he beat in the third round due to a TKO.

Although, to many who have watched the fight it does look like Kimbo taps during the fight. An argument for another day.

Now, I know what you are thinking, Kimbo Slice is going to have a long and prosperous career in MMA! Look who he has beaten, three fighters who are in their prime of their fighting careers. Who can stop this guy? Can even Fedor beat him?

Next Kimbo was set to fight Ken Shamrock, who had to pull out due to injury hours before the fight. Maybe Ken was scared of Kimbo, maybe he didn't want to be the next victim in this beasts way to the top.

Seth Petruzelli was chosen to fight this colossal fighting machine, and according to some rumours floating around (started by Seth and then retracted quickly) was paid extra to keep the fight on the feet and to slug it out with Slice.

Now, either Seth has the biggest set of balls in MMA history or is the dumbest person in history to try and take down this fighter, who will definitely be going down in history as one of the top MMA fighters of all time.

Seth quickly proved that David can truely beat Goliath, knocking out Kimbo in 14 seconds. How did Seth achieve the greatest upset in MMA history? How did he knock out the man who set fear into the eyes of children everywhere? How does this contestant on the Ultimate Fighter who lost to Brad Imes in the heavyweight semifinal defeat this man?

More importantly, what will Kimbo do now? Since the defeat of the Elite XC most praised and feared fighter the company has gone bankrupt, where will this man fight? We need to see him fight! Dana White said he would not give Kimbo a UFC contract but he would offer him a spot on the Ultimate Fighter.

I wonder how Kimbo would do on this. Surely this man could easily rip apart the cast of wannabees trying to make it to the UFC. Maybe he will fight in Affliction, Fedor will need a new fighter after the Arlovski bout.

I wonder how Kimbo's children Kevin Jr., Kevin II, and Kevlar for the boys and Kassandra, Kiara, and Kevina for the girls, will take to their father being one of the best fighters to have ever lived.

May it be over now, much to prematurely, or may it be in 10 years after he retires the UFC undefeated champion.
