As WWE Films prepares to produce a third installment in the Marine movie franchise, the company has been forced to find a new individual for the lead role after we learned that superstar Randy Orton was removed from the cast.

But who does the WWE have in mind to fill the void left by the Viper?

From PWInsider.com (via WrestlingInc.com):

Before WWE originally announced Randy Orton for The Marine 3, officials were considering three other Superstars for the movie - John Cena, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. No word yet if one of these Superstars will take the role now that Orton has been removed from the cast.

Of those three candidates, the obvious choice would be for John Cena to return to the big screen after he starred in the first movie back in 2006.

As for Rhodes and WWE champion CM Punk, I don't think either would be the right choice for the lead role in a movie at this stage in their career, even if it is produced by the company they are currently employed by.

That being said, while he might not be the right choice, CM Punk would be receiving one of his demands from last summer if he were to land the role. After all, along with the return of the WWE ice cream bars, his demands included being featured in a film.

If it were me, I think the WWE should look to bring in an actor that doesn’t have any ties with the company so that the movie may have more of a fighting chance to be successful when it’s released in the future.

So, Bleachers, what do you think about the possibility of John Cena returning to the Marine franchise? What about the possibility of having new superstars like Cody Rhodes or CM Punk in the title role?
