WrestleMania 28 Results: Chris Jericho Comments on His Loss to Champion CM Punk

Chris HumphreyJun 6, 2018

With the bright lights of Sun Life Stadium bearing down on the two superstars both proclaiming to be the “Best in the World,” Chris Jericho and CM Punk certainly lived up to their nicknames in their WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 28 in Miami.

After tapping out to Punk’s Anaconda Vise submission, Jericho came up short in his quest to become the sole person to claim they are “Best in the World” following their 30-plus minute title match.

The former Undisputed Champion took to Twitter earlier this morning and gave his thoughts about his loss to Punk Sunday night on the biggest stage the WWE has to offer.

Feel like I got run over by a truck...and in a way I did. The better man won last night. I guess its time for me to move on.

If you look past the surprising praise given to Punk for their awesome match at WrestleMania, we might have being seeing Jericho leave the company again with the words, “I guess its time for me to move on.”

It was reported before that Jericho would be leaving the company following WrestleMania just after he returned this past January, but it seems likely that he’ll stay through the summer along with touring with his band, Fozzy.

As a fan of Jericho since his days as Cruiserweight Champion in the now-defunct WCW in the 1990s, I really hope Y2J sticks around a little while longer during this run with the WWE because he’s still one of the best wrestlers in the game.

With Extreme Rules coming up at the end of April, it would be awesome to see Punk and Jericho go at it one more time in a rematch in a Falls Count Anywhere Submission match for the WWE Championship.

So, Bleachers: Would you like to see Chris Jericho stay with the WWE following his loss to CM Punk in their classic WWE Championship match from last night’s WrestleMania event?
