WrestleMania 28 Results: WWE Shouldn't Make a Match for WrestleMania 29 Tonight

Chris HumphreyCorrespondent IApril 2, 2012

With a year of build-up from the night following WrestleMania 27 last year, the Rock and John Cena lived up to the massive amount of hype their match received in their main event match last night at WrestleMania 28.

Even though the year-long build for Rock-Cena worked at this year’s WrestleMania, the WWE should not set up a main-event match tonight on Raw for WrestleMania 29 in 2013 at MetLife Stadium.

As of right now, the roster for the WWE doesn’t really have the star power outside of Cena and CM Punk that it once had to schedule a match a year in advance without bringing in a former big-time superstar.

Of course, there are some dream matches that have been tossed around by fans in recent months like CM Punk or John Cena taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin at next year’s event, but that might be a stretch.

With former WWE and UFC Champion Brock Lesnar reportedly returning to the company on a limited basis, I would like to see Lesnar take on John Cena or possibly even take a run at the 20-0 streak of the Undertaker.

While the likelihood of Brock Lesnar or Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to the ring for WrestleMania 29 is very unclear, I think it would be in the WWE’s best interest to return to their former policy and make matches for WrestleMania around the Royal Rumble.

So Bleachers, do you think the WWE should set up a match at next year’s WrestleMania tonight on Raw SuperShow like they did last year for the Rock and John Cena?
