St. Louis Rams Nation NFL Fan Poll: Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt?

Shane GrayJun 7, 2018

As most of you know by now, former St. Louis Rams all-time great wide receiver Torry Holt will sign with St. Louis next week for a day before announcing his retirement from Rams Park on April 4 at 11:00 a.m. CT, according to NFL Network

In 2010, former Holt teammate and fellow all-time great receiver Isaac Bruce also signed a one-day deal with the team before announcing his retirement, which you can watch here.

During the greatest show on turf era, fans throughout Rams Nation were privileged to share in the careers of two of the most prolific and classy wide receivers in NFL history.  St. Louis fans were able to watch them do their thing, season after season, at the Edward Jones Dome.  Rams fans everywhere were treated to having two all-time wideouts with the Rams at the same time.

It was amazing to watch Bruce and Holt run wild on opposing defenses during one of the franchises most successful eras ever.

Sadly, both players long ago hit the turf of the EJD for the final time.  We will never again see them flash a big smile after a score, perform the bob and weave after a touchdown or hoist the Lombardi Trophy after a Super Bowl win.

Thankfully, though, we have our memories and, with all of the technology at hand today, can reminisce at any time and glance back at the highlights that made both men all-time greats.

Now For the Poll

Who was the better Rams receiver: Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt?

Before voting, please remember to think back to a time when each player was smack-dab in the middle of his prime.

It is too easy to remember Bruce and Holt at the end of their careers when they had slowed down just a bit, as those are the most recent memories we possess of them.  However, if you can recall each player at their pinnacle, it will be easier to accurately assess them.

More than anything, though, vote based upon the body of work of each player and who you believe was the better wide receiver over the course of their respective careers.

Finally, before voting, please not only consider your memories but also take a moment to review each player's statistics, as posted below.

Isaac Bruce

– Four-time Pro Bowl Selection

– 119 Receptions in 1995

– Super Bowl Winning Catch (2000)

– 91 Touchdowns (26th All-Time)

– 1,024 Career Receptions (No. 7 All-Time)

– 15,208 Receiving Yards (No. 3 All-Time)

– 91 Receiving Touchdowns (No. 10 All-Time)

– 14.9 Career Yards Per Catch

Torry Holt

– Seven-Time Pro Bowl Selection

– 117 Receptions in 2003

– 74 Touchdowns (66th All-Time)

– 920 Career Receptions (No. 13 All-Time)

– 13,382 Receiving Yards (No. 10 All-Time)

– 74 Receiving Touchdowns (No. 28 All-Time)

– 14.5 Career Yards Per Catch

As you can see, both players posted prolific numbers and Hall of Fame-worthy careers.  A great argument could be made for voting either way.

As for me, I have my own opinion on the matter (which I will reveal in the results column that will present the winner for this poll).

Please remember to vote, and remind all of your friends within Rams Nation to do the same.  I am very anxious to see the results of the poll.

Have a great day, as always, STL Rams Nation.
