Prior to WrestleMania 28, Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres, the Divas champion and current WWE It Girl, assured the fans that they would have no problem defeating the team of Kelly Kelly and TV personality Maria Menounos.

However, the gruesome twosome found themselves walking out of Sun Life Stadium with a WrestleMania loss under their belts and their egos bruised.

Even though Kelly and Menounos captured the victory last night, the main source of discussion amongst fans of the Divas is centered around Phoenix and Torres, and both women will only benefit in the coming month.

After six months of defending her Divas Championship title, Phoenix has been unchallenged since her match against Tamina Snuka at Elimination Chamber in February. She has become increasingly arrogant, which is making fans believe that it's time for a different Diva to step up and knock Phoenix off her pedestal.

Phoenix has been able to hold her own against professional wrestlers, but her WrestleMania loss came from being pinned by Menounos, the host of entertainment program Extra and current Dancing With the Stars contestant.

The other divas on the roster must be looking at Phoenix's title reign and wondering if they can perform similarly to Menounos and capture the Divas title for themselves.

One of those divas is likely Torres, who only formed a partnership with Phoenix to gain publicity and earn a spot on the WrestleMania 28 card. There is no mutual admiration between the two women and the result of their partnership won't be so much of a falling out as it will be a boiling over.

Over the last few months, Torres has quickly become the most popular Diva on the roster due to her manipulation of Zack Ryder and her constant attempts at getting attention for herself.

After the Divas tag team bout, Torres appeared a second time at last night's event. During the General Manager six-on-six tag team match, she distracted Ryder long enough to allow The Miz to pin him and win the match for Team Johnny.

Post match, Torres kicked Ryder in the groin and essentially erased any doubts in the Long Island Iced Z's mind that he and Torres were a couple.

These shocking moves will only continue the debate over what exactly Torres' intentions are in the new wrestling year.

Torres' vanity and selfishness will likely lead her to pursue the Divas Championship once again, a title that she's held twice before. She will only have to focus her seemingly boundless creative energies toward doing so.

Phoenix's days as the Divas Champion are numbered, and the smart money is on her defeat coming at the hands of the increasingly notorious Torres.
