WWE Hall of Fame 2012: 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and the Biggest Snubs

Jun 7, 2018

While WrestleMania 28 is the focal point of the week in Miami, the WWE is ready to blowout their show on Saturday night for the Hall of Fame inductions.

Stars like Edge, Yokozuna, Mike Tyson and many others will be going into the non-existent hall this year, but as always, there are some serious snubs.

All of the following stars should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, but the fact that they are not only proves just how fraudulent the whole idea is anyway.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage

There is no bigger star in the history of the WWE that has been as disrespected by the business than "Macho Man" Randy Savage. That’s right folks, yet another year that the best wrestler of all-time sits on the outside looking in.

Macho Man won six world championships and gave the IC belt real credibility in his time, but it was all the lives he influenced along the way and the droves of die-hard fans he had that make him the legend he is today.

With May marking a year since the untimely death of Randy Savage, there would have been no better time for Vince to swallow his pride and allow the star his rightful honor.

"Ravishing" Rick Rude

There may have been no better egotistical heel in the history of the WWE than "Ravishing" Rick Rude. While Ric Flair and many others were conceded, Rude’s bodybuilder physique had him on a whole other level.

With runs in every major federation through his career and championships held all along the way, it's unbelievable that Rude would still be on the outside looking in.

After his death in 1999, many thought that his eventual inclusion in the Hall of Fame was imminent, but here we are 13 years later with nothing to honor the fallen star.

Bruno Sammartino

Sammartino may have only won WWE world championship gold twice in his career, his first reign lasted seven years, eight months, and one day—by far the longest run in the history of the WWE.

While it’s impossible to argue just how influential Sammartino was on the wrestling business for so many years, it was the splash he made after his career that keeps him out of the WWE Hall of Fame.

From steroid issues to sexual assault issues, Sammartino has thrown the WWE to the wolves over the years in hope of giving Vince McMahon a taste of his own medicine. For that reason, one of the greatest champions in WWE history will never get the honor he deserves.
