Shabazz Muhammad: Power Ranking McDonald's All-American's Best Options

Eric BowmanMar 28, 2012

Shabazz Muhammad is the top undecided college basketball recruit in the country, and it's easy to see some of the schools he interested in are a better fit than others.

According to ESPN, Muhammad is considering attending Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, USC, UCLA and UNLV. He'll announce his decision on Wednesday, April 11.

Listed at 6'6" and 215 pounds, the small forward is headed for big things once he steps foot on a college campus.

It's uncertain just where that will be, but one things for sure: Muhammad would benefit most from signing with one of these three schools.

Kentucky

The Wildcats are bound to lose some very skilled players to the NBA once again. John Calipari recruits at an extremely high level, and the past few years he's had to rebound after the one and done players.

That will happen to Calipari again this year, meaning Kentucky will have a huge need for talented stars to step in and produce right away.

Enter Muhammad.

He's an all-around player that will fit in very well with Kentucky. The Wildcats will need playmakers, and there aren't many out there better than Muhammad.

Duke

The Blue Devils are in dire need of a game-changer now that Austin Rivers is headed off to the NBA draft.

Like always, Duke has a strong recruiting class, but landing Muhammad would put them over the top. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski has to be fed up with early exits in the NCAA Tournament, as well as losing to North Carolina.

Having a player like Muhammad on the roster means that the Blue Devils will be one of the most dangerous teams in the country.

Muhammad would join a talented core at Duke, becoming the star player in no time.

UNLV

UNLV may not have the championships like UCLA or the recent success like Kansas, but it's still a strong option for Muhammad.

Not only would he be the face of the team, Muhammad would be staying in his hometown, making him quite the hero. The Runnin' Rebels are losing one of their top forwards, so the need for Muhammad is definitely there.

Even if they were returning everyone they'd still be a solid place for Muhammad, simply because they play in a weaker conference, meaning he would be able to dominate with ease. Plus he would still start because of his immense talent.

In addition to all of that, Muhammad would get to play with his high school teammate, Demetris Morant. Their chemistry together would certainly help UNLV continue to thrive.

Wherever Muhammad ends up going, he'll make the decision based on which place is most comfortable to him and where he sees himself succeeding the most at. Any of these three schools would all be fantastic landing spots for Muhammad.
