Titletown, USA: Competition of the Ages

Ryan SmithJan 14, 2009

Titletown, USA is a title that was awarded to Valdosta, Georgia by ESPN. Valdosta is a great sports town, but what I couldn’t believe is how a city without a professional sports team won. Because of this, I have decided to create my own Titletown, USA competition.

This Titletown, USA competition will consist of 11 cities from around the United States.

Here are the teams.

All of the cities have won at least SIX major sports championships. Those sports include the Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup, and NBA Finals. No college or high school championships will affect this competition.

How does a city win? After all of the articles describing the cities' championships are written, you, the reader, will vote on which city you think deserves to be Titletown, USA.

Even if your city doesn’t win, don’t despair. The three cities that receive the most votes will represent the United States in the Titletown, Earth competition. That will begin pending the results of the Titletown, USA competition.

If you want your city to win, tell others about the competition. Good luck.
