Atlanta Braves Sign Derek Lowe on a Four-Year, $60-Million Contract

The Mets miss out on another player. Derek Lowe was the best free agent pitcher left on the market in my opinion. He puts up consistent numbers and he stays healthy. A four-year, $60M contract sounds like a a lot of money, but he is deserving. People may come out and say that he doesn’t deserve it, but when you look at the numbers he put up and the amount of money other pitchers are making…you will change your mind. General managers set the bar so high when they offer terrible contracts to bad pitchers. The Mets are going to now have to watch out for the Braves. They now have: Lowe, Vazquez, Jurrjens, Hudson, Kawakami, Campillo. The deal will be official once he passes a physical.
