I know that I have already written an article about Zab Judah getting knocked out, and how funny it was, but I had to write about more funny knock outs that I have witnessed in my day as a fan of both boxing and MMA.
The photo at the top looks to me like Judah is holding his groin in pain, and writing a second article mentioning his actions in the fight with Kostya Tszyu was a bit of a low blow, but I just decided to run with this and write another article.
This time I will give Judah the respect of not including the commentary by Cedric The Entertainer and just post the actual knock out itself. I have to put this at the first spot, because it still makes me laugh every time I watch it.
Next would definitely have to be Andrei Arlovski's TKO of Marcio Cruz...unfortunately I couldn't find this one anywhere, but if anyone can find it, I would be happy if they could tell me where. Cruz had Arlovski down on his back and the referee had stopped the fighters to call attention to something...can't quite remember exactly what it was.
Andrei, laying on his back, holds his fist up like "Hey as soon as he starts us again, I am going to punch you in the face with this hand right here." The referee started the fight again and Arlovski punched Cruz in the face with the hand he was holding directly in front of him, and that was pretty much all she wrote for Marcio in that fight.
The next is a boxer that gets knocked out so bad he still thinks he is fighting. I didn't see this fight unfold, but it has been a favorite on my YouTube page for quite some time now.
Now, we come to Bob Sapp vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. The knock out itself wasn't as funny as Bob Sapp's "he broketed my nose" reaction...just like The Longest Yard.
I apologize to every MMA fan, as well as boxing fans that read this, because I am going to add Kimbo on this one...and he isn't getting KO's himself. He is fighting a guy who thinks he is a true badass. This guy goes as far as to crack his arthritic knuckles in the camera...if arthritis makes you a badass, I am going to start my grandmother in training today. The guy even looks like he is trying the Popeye speed bag punch at times.
There are several more that I am just drawing a blank on right now. I would really appreciate more. If anyone has any more suggestions, I will look them up.
