Rumors are circulating the NBA that the Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls are interested in taking Pau Gasol off Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles' Lakers hands.

While the details are very slim as of yet, this trade would take the Bulls over the hump, that is the Miami Heat

Carlos Boozer, the starting PF, has been accused of going soft and has a very large contract to boot. He has not been the option the Bulls wanted at PF, and trading him for Gasol might be a brilliant idea for the Chicago Bulls to undertake.

However, since we do not know what the Bulls are willing to give up, we must make sure to realize that the Bulls have gotten this far because of their astounding chemistry and teamwork.

While trading away Carlos Boozer seems like a good idea, since Pau Gasol is a much better player, the Bulls will probably have to give up players or picks in order to compensate for the difference. They probably will not be able to steal Gasol like the Dallas Mavericks were able to steal Lamar Odom.

Still, the idea is fun and it brings a warmth to Bulls fans. It has been said repeatedly that Derrick Rose is not enough and that the Bulls need a second reliable option on offense.

Richard Hamilton was brought in to hopefully fix this, but he did not do the job, and has been struggling with injury.

Pau Gasol's 16 points per game will surely help the Bulls. Plus, as a humongous man, he demands extra attention, and this could help facilitate extra scoring opportunities by Joakim Noah, Luol Deng or any player off the bench of the Bulls.

Pau Gasol is currently has 16 points per game with a .504 field goal percentage. He has 10 rebounds per game, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 blocks. Boozer, to compare, has 15.6 points per game on 50.4 percent shooting, with eight rebounds, 1.6 assists and .4 blocks per game.
