WWE News: Huge Update on Reported Plans for the Miz at WrestleMania 28

The Miz finds himself in a very odd predicament, heading to WrestleMania 28 without a spot on the card just one year after wrestling John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 27. 

To top that off, The Miz is also in the midst of a 10-match losing streak that’s seen him be the victim of several short squash matches, such as the one against Cena on last week’s RAW. Some have speculated that this is a result of backstage heat on The Miz, while others think that it’s leading to a big storyline down the road. 

So, which one is it? Let’s find out.

There continues to be a lot of speculation regarding The Miz’s role at WrestleMania 28. Miz, who successfully defended the WWE title against John Cena in the main event of last year’s show, is rumored to be involved in this year’s Rock vs. Cena match in some capacity. WWE is said to have a storyline ready for The Miz after WrestleMania and his recent losing streak is part of the buildup to that angle.

Well, not to brag or anything, but this was something I predicted might happen over a week ago. Here’s what I wrote:

There is a long-running history between The Rock, John Cena and The Miz.

The Rock played a role in the Miz/Cena match at WrestleMania 27, Cena and The Rock teamed up to take on The Miz and R-Truth at Survivor Series in 2011 and there were a couple of promo exchanges involving all three superstars last year.

Although none of us want to see a shady finish to Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28, I have this eerie feeling that we just might get one, courtesy of The Miz.

The Miz vows to main-event WrestleMania 28, and with rumors that The Rock might be competing at WrestleMania 29, I wouldn't completely eliminate the possibility of Miz interfering at 'Mania, costing Rock the match and setting up a SummerSlam showdown between the two.

Pretty good, huh? To be honest, though, it didn’t really take a genius to figure this out. 

The Miz has been adamant that he will be in the main event of WrestleMania 28 some how, some way, but he hasn’t specified that he’s going to be wrestling in it. Therefore, all he has to do is be involved in it to live up to his promise, no matter what that entails. 

As I mentioned earlier, the set-up for The Miz to get involved in the bout between The Rock and Cena is definitely there. It’s just a matter of whether or not the WWE is willing to essentially ruin the match by having Miz interfere it. 

Given that the creative team likely doesn’t want either The Rock or Cena to lose clean, however, I wouldn’t even be remotely surprised if The Miz screws one of them over in the biggest match of all-time.
