    The Yanks have thought about a possible trade for Mike Cameron. Negotiations broke off in December when the Brewers said that they weren’t very interested in moving him. Nick Swisher for Mike Cameron doesn’t sound bad to me. This way we would have our center fielder and Swisher can have a starting role on another team. Swisher would only be a back up player on the Yankees.

“I’m not motivated to move him,” said Melvin, who promised Cameron he would only trade him to a contender. “Having a good defensive centerfielder is valuable.”

“As far as I’m concerned, I’m a Brewer until somebody calls me and tells me otherwise,” he said. “I have no control over that. Doug talked to me and told me what was going on, and I appreciate that.
