WWE News: 'Genuine Tension' Between John Cena and The Rock Behind the Scenes
If you've felt like there has been a real-life butting of the heads between The Rock and John Cena, then you're probably right.
Quite frankly, The Rock has come across a little too convincingly when he's derided Cena's style of dress, what he stands for and his boring babyface routine.
Likewise, Cena has exhibited a passion we've seldom seen since he's mocked The Rock for giving promos via satellite, not staying true to the fans and "cheating" them by using wrist notes.

According to The Pro Wrestling Torch (via 411Mania.com), the two wrestling icons have not been seeing eye-to-eye on a lot of things:
"The Rock and John Cena are said to have genuine tension behind-the-scenes of their angle. They are cordial with each other, but the tension has been building ever since the weeks before Survivor Series.
A source said: 'They aren't buddy-buddy, that's for sure. I've heard they've disagreed about a lot of things. They aren't big fans of one another personally, but they are willing to carry on with business.'
"
Hopefully, the tension between the two men is more of the constructive kind whereby each feels compelled to do his absolute best for the sake of the storyline.
That being said, it's understandable if there is an unhealthy dislike between the two.
The reason being is that just about everything that has been uttered by both parties has struck deep into the roots of reality, oftentimes hitting a little too close to home. With an ego the size of The Rock or Cena's, one is bound to feel threatened.
In addition, taking into account the behind-the-scenes rumor about Cena's "promo notes" comment being unscripted, it will be interesting to see if Vince McMahon is forced to step in as a mediator.
At the end of the day, though, as long as their differences don't prevent a business relationship (even at the cost of a personal one), the fans will be the true winners of their on and off-air feud.
